Globally, 2 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water services and 3.6 billion lack access to safely managed sanitation services. At the current pace, we are unlikely to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030.
