Equitable education is a key contributor to reducing poverty and realising lasting development. The world has made major progress in delivering quality Education to all girls and boys and millions more children are attending school and the gender gap is narrowing especially at the primary level .However this is confronted with young and growing populations and high rates of poverty and inequality that have worsened with Covid-19 .Ugandan education system has not been an exception and was badly hit when schools were closed in march 2020 and millions of students spent more than a year out of school and the effects took a toll on the girls who were married off since parents could not provide food and other basic needs and the boys ventured in to doing casual work to supplement the house hold income. ....

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar reiterated to provide equitable access to four million children to best educational opportunities.
Chief minister chaired a meeting to review education sector reforms. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, Education Minister Murad Raas, secretaries of the Information and School Education Departments and others.
Addressing the meeting CM said that the upgradation of more than 27 thousand schools will result in enhancing the enrolment ratio and it is sanguine that 10 thousand schools of south Punjab are also included in this list. ....
