On Dec 31 last year, total asset size of mutual fund industry stood at ₹39.88 lakh crore. It spiked to ₹49.05 lakh crore by Nov 30, 2023, signifying a jump of 23 percent in the first eleven months
The mutual fund industry saw its assets grow from Rs. 39.88 trillion in September 2022 to Rs. 47.79 trillion in September 2023, reflecting a substantial 19.84% increase in assets compared to September 2022.
“It is very heartening to see that Indian retail investors continue to invest in the equity markets via the Mutual Fund route, especially through SIP mode. The record SIP contribution of Rs 15,813.54 crores is a testimony of the Indian Investors long term approach to building wealth by investing through small ticket sized SIPs,” said NS Venkatesh, CEO, Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
Hybrid schemes, with total Assets Under Management (AUM) of Rs 4.87 trillion, are the second-lowest open-ended mutual fund category after Solution Oriented Schemes. Compared to this, Growth/Equity Oriented Schemes commanded AUM of Rs 15.01 trillion as of February-end.
The mutual funds saw a net influx of 65,077.46 crore, up from the previous month's inflow of 23,604.92 crore.
