Randall Porter "I'm very excited to give the checks out," President of the Alabama NAACP, Bernard Simelton, said. "We're just elated that people took the time to go and get their vaccinations."  Around 450 people entered the contest in hopes of securing a check. Contestants had to be between the ages of 18-40 to enter the drawing. Organizers were hoping to increase vaccine rates among millennials and GenZs.. Simelton explains, "We are going all that we can do to make sure that people get vaccinated." The winners were full of smiles and laughter as they accepted their prizes.

Ryan Devlin Quartet: Thoughts on the Matter Joining Devlin for this concert are acclaimed pianist Per Danielsson, bass phenom Thomas Milovac, and drummer extraordinaire Eric Bailey. The quartet will be playing known jazz standard tunes and selections from Devlin’s first record, "Thoughts on the Matter," recorded in December 2020 and currently airing on international radio stations.
