Kota Kinabalu: The brother of a leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) arrested in Malaysia and deported to the Philippines urged both governments to respect and ensure the protection of his brother’s rights under international and national human rights instruments.
Casilao, who was arrested in Malaysia, was deported to the Philippines on Monday. According to police and immigration authorities, he had left the Philippines under a false name.
DAVAO CITY – Former Anakpawis party-list Rep. Ariel Casilao defended his brother Eric Jun, a suspected ranking communist rebel leader in Mindanao, saying his elder brother is not a terrorist.
The Philippine National Police is expected to hold a press conference on the arrest later Monday morning.
