Kennywood Park on Wednesday announced new security protocols and a chaperone policy before it reopens this weekend following a triple shooting inside the park. Some of the new security measures have been implemented to address the possibility that someone might have smuggled a gun into the park through one of the perimeter fences. The park said that, as of last week, it didn’t have video cameras that covered the entire perimeter but it is in the process of installing more. It also cut down some trees, added floodlights and is stationing additional officers on the perimeter.
