The Dibrugarh district transport department has collected a staggering amount of Rs 45 lakh in fines for traffic-related offences over the past eight months. Various traffic infringements such as drink-driving, overspeeding, helmetless bike riding and driving without seat belts have been targeted by the department, resulting in the registration of 17,792 offences during the period.
