He's a governor, he's been an executive. that appeals to the establishment part of the party. he managed to manage his budget the way they liked. they love he went after unions. and also a social conservative and somebody who could inspire some of the religious right to go along with him. lately though, i think all his support has been scattered all over the board. it wasn't just donald trump, it was scott walker. people liked the idea of him, but close up he didn't live up to his reputation. people drifted to other candidates. conservatives might go to ted cruz or bobby jindal or mike huckabe...
