Kwara State Government Seals Quarry Sites Operating Without Licence, Causing Environmental Degradation
The Kwara State government has sealed some quarry sites operating without necessary documents to validate their operational mode in the state. SaharaReporters reported on September 5, 2023 a story of Kwara Community where residents blame Chinese mining company for cracks in houses, deafness in farmed animals among others. It had been reported that Orogbagba community in Asa Local government of the State accused Kaidi Quarry, a Chinese company of environmental damage, property destruction, and health hazards attributed to the mining company's rock blasting operations.
