Over $23 million paid to consumers as compensation for 'bad gas'
The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) says it has dispersed over $23 million as compensation for aggrieved consumers who were affected by the ‘bad gas’ incident of 2015. Speaking at the CAC's press briefing on Friday, the body’s Chairman, Donovan White, said a total of 381 claims were slated to receive the one-off payment, with the first disbursements having been made on May 27 of last year. "As at January 31, 2021, the commission has dispersed some $23.88 million for 336 claims.
