Bill to tackle exam malpractices likely in Parliament on Monday

The government plans to introduce a new bill to address malpractices and irregularities in competitive examinations. The bill, called the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024, aims to crack down on organized gangs, mafia elements, and government officials involved in malpractices. It proposes a maximum jail term of 10 years and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore. The bill also establishes a high-level national technical committee to make the examination process more secure.
