John Salzman Jr., Fred Wasserloos, and Anthony Geruso’s Coffeewithchris, given a perfect trip from jockey Jaime Rodriguez, got the jump on favored Prince of Jericho and held off his rival in deep stretch to capture Saturday’s $100,000 Miracle Wood by 1 ¼ lengths at Laurel Park.
“He’s great. He’s the same horse every day. He runs and he comes out of there bouncing,” Russell said of Prince Of Jericho.
Madaket Stables’ L Street Lady, making just her third career start and first in a stakes, pressed favored Chickieness before taking over at the top of the stretch and sprinting clear to a 2 ¼-length triumph in Saturday’s $100,000 Xtra Heat at Laurel Park.
