Two extracted from vehicle after Tuesday morning crash in Wexford County

CADILLAC â Two people had to be extracted from their vehicle Tuesday morning after a collision south of Cadillac.
According to a Michigan State Police press release, on Tuesday at approximately 8:55 a.m., a trooper from the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on Mitchell Street and Mackinaw Trail Highway in Clam Lake Township.
A 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by 57-year-old man from Interlochen with two passengers ran a red light and struck a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 63- year-old Cadillac man that was turning left onto northbound Mitchell from Mackinaw Trail Highway.
There were no reported injuries at the scene, however the two passengers in the Jeep Liberty, a 36-year-old Traverse City man and a 37-year-old Traverse City woman, had to be extracted from the vehicle by the Cadillac Fire Department. ....

CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector rescued a man who was at risk of drowning in the All-American Canal Saturday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m., when Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) operators spotted a group illegally entering the United States east of the Calexico Downtown Port of Entry.
RVSS operators then advised that the illegal aliens had entered the All-American Canal in attempt to swim across. One of the individuals was struggling to exit the water due to the high vegetation and steep banks. The Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue team (BORSTAR) was notified and responded to the area. ....

The family of a man who died in hospital weeks after having an infected wisdom tooth extracted has laid a formal complaint after concerns with his care.
Bryce Don Roy Rangitaawa, 44, died at Middlemore Hospital on January 20, a week after he was admitted for an ongoing wisdom tooth infection. ....

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector successfully rescue an illegal alien Thursday evening.
The rescue occurred at approximately 6:10 p.m., when agents apprehended a group of illegal aliens in the Jacumba Wilderness mountain region of El Centro Border Patrol Station’s area of responsibility. While interviewing the group, a female subject had problems standing up and answering questions. Agents requested the assistance from Border Search Trauma and Rescue unit (BORSTAR).
BORSTAR agents arrived, evaluated the female, and determined that she had a weak pulse. At this time, intravenous fluids were administered to improve her condition. After her condition improved, she was extracted from the mountains with the assistance of BORSTAR agents. Agents and the group of illegal aliens arrived at Interstate 8 nearly three hours later. ....

The Hindu newspaper has reported many details about the two Sri Lankans who were recently arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau of India with 100 kilos of heroin.
Following a failed attempt to eliminate a Sri Lankan drug enforcement inspector in May 2017, M.M.M. Nawas and Mohamed Afnas has now been arrested by the Indian Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for alleged role in an international drug trafficking racket. They entered India through the Rameswaram coast.
