"Epigenetic histone acetylation modulating prenatal Poly I:C induced ne" by Yueqing Su, Jiamei Lian et al. - Vimarsana News

"Epigenetic histone acetylation modulating prenatal Poly I:C induced ne" by Yueqing Su, Jiamei Lian et al.

Introduction: Neuroinflammation in the central nervous system, particularly the prefrontal cortex (PFC), plays a role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia, which has been found to be associated with maternal immune activation (MIA). Recent evidence suggests that epigenetic regulation involves in the MIA-induced neurodevelopmental disturbance. However, it is not well-understood how epigenetic modulation is involved in the neuroinflammation and pathogenesis of schizophrenia. Methods: This study explored the modulation of histone acetylation in both neuroinflammation and neurotransmission using a...

"Hydrogen Sulfide Attenuates High-Fat Diet-Induced Obesity: Involvement" by Maofang Zhao, Yuan Cheng et al. - Vimarsana News

"Hydrogen Sulfide Attenuates High-Fat Diet-Induced Obesity: Involvement" by Maofang Zhao, Yuan Cheng et al.

Obesity has become a public health epidemic worldwide and is associated with many diseases with high mortality including hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. High-fat diet (HFD)-induced energy imbalance is one of the primary causes of obesity, but the underlying mechanisms are not fully elucidated. Our study showed that HFD reduced the level of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and its catalytic enzyme cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) in mouse hypothalamus and plasma. We found that HFD activated mTOR, IKK/NF-κB, the main pathway regulating inflammation. Activation of inflammatory pathway promoted t...

"The mTOR/NF-κB Pathway Mediates Neuroinflammation and Synaptic Plastic" by Ting Xu, Jiao Liu et al. - Vimarsana News

"The mTOR/NF-κB Pathway Mediates Neuroinflammation and Synaptic Plastic" by Ting Xu, Jiao Liu et al.

Abstract Diabetic encephalopathy, a severe complication of diabetes mellitus, is characterized by neuroinflammation and aberrant synaptogenesis in the hippocampus leading to cognitive decline. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is associated with cognition impairment. Nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) is a transcription factor of proinflammatory cytokines. Although mTOR has been ever implicated in processes occurring in neuroinflammation, the role of this enzyme on NF-κB signaling pathway remains unclear in diabetic encephalopathy. In the present study, we investigated whether mTOR regulates the...
