Kentucky Derby 2021: Valets, Churchill Downs yet to agree on contract
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Any resolution to the contract dispute between Churchill Downs Inc. and the racetrack's valets won't come before the Kentucky Derby race, as officials from the two sides did not come together Friday for mediation talks. As of Friday evening, the valets, who are responsible for saddling the horses and preparing them to race, had not decided whether to strike during the 147th Run for the Roses.
