PLA marches toward centenary goals as units inspected by Xi safeguard territorial sovereignty, maritime rights, national unity
Less than a month before the 96th founding anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on August 1, President Xi Jinping on July 6 inspected the headquarters of the PLA Eastern Theater Command in East China's Jiangsu Province and stressed efforts to focus on the goals for the centenary of the PLA in 2027 and break new ground for theater command development and war preparedness.
