Pinch point removal completed on Manchester’s busy A57 Replacement of the former rail bridge has been completed above the A57 Hyde Road in Gorton, Manchester as part of a £5.9M scheme allowing the route to be widened, reducing traffic congestion. Until now, a 300m section of the road was narrowed from dual carriageway to a single lane in either direction where the route ran under a 19 th century rail bridge.
