After a morning work shift at a different neighborhood park each day, volunteers and community members will gather for a social hour each evening.
Sioux Falls Thrive and the Sioux Falls Health Department announced the launching of a pilot program called Eat Well Mobile Market with the goal to provide access to healthy food options in specific neighborhoods around the city.
The program will be headed by Sioux Falls Thrive and could start as early as August.
1 in 6 children in Minnehaha County are “food insecure,” according to a study by the Augustana Research Institute commissioned by Sioux Falls Thrive.
“There are some opportunities from what Alabama has done to take those things and potentially implement them in our state,” Rep. Taylor Rehfeldt said.
