Fourth of July: Springfield parade brings community together
View Comments A police siren rang as hundreds lined up down the Midtown streets. Drums heard in the distance got louder as they neared with American flags everywhere you looked. After a year off because of the pandemic, Midtown's "Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Parade" brought the community together once again. The Mystery Hour's Jeff Houghton led the way as the grand marshal. Any doubt that lingering pandemic fears would eliminate the tossing of candy was quickly eliminated.
