A teenager at one of Australia s most exclusive boys schools who now identifies as a female has been allowed to stay and finish Year 12.
Xavier College - a $29,870-a-year catholic school in Kew in Melbourne s affluent inner-east - told parents in a letter on Tuesday staff supported the student s decision to come out to her peers.
The letter said while gender fluidity issues prompt a range of different opinions, the school aimed to respect the dignity of each and every unique person .
