The eighth Bentonville Film Festival, which champions underrepresented storytellers on and off screen, was an epicenter of activity after two years of operating at understated levels due to the pandemic. This year its events and screenings were well attended, some even sold out.
It was the scent of coffee, not popcorn, that pervaded the opening of the eighth Bentonville Film Festival Wednesday.
"The Bentonville Film Festival has always been about championing underrepresented storytellers on- and off-screen," Geena Davis told guests at a media preview on June 1. "BFF connects storytellers from across the globe right here in Northwest Arkansas through creativity and a sense of belonging. Our mission-driven festival lifts this community by using this platform to be a lasting, positive impact on not only the entertainment industry but the community at home here in Arkansas.
