The Twin Cedars Girls Track and Field Squad won the Bluegrass Conference Track and Field Championship Tuesday night in Lamoni. The Sabers scored 98 points to runner-up Seymour’s 93. Rylee Dunkin was a quadruple gold medalist winning all four events she was in including the 100 meter dash 800 and 1500 meter runs, and long jump. Cheyenne Bruns was also a winner in the open 400. The Saber boys placed 11th with Isiah Arreola placing 6th in the shot put. Both Saber squads will head to the Newton Invitational on Thursday. F

Twin Cedars Girls Take 3rd Place At South Tama Meet

The Twin Cedars Girls Track and Field Squad head to South Tama. The Sabers have a chance to improve on times in preparation for the Bluegrass Conference Meet and the state qualifying event in May. Rylee Dunkin has the 8th best time according to Varsity Bound in class 1A in the 1500 with a time of 5:21.10.

The Twin Cedars Girls Track and Field Squad finished 4th of eight teams at the Pyner Relays at Wayne on Thursday. It was another night of harvesting precious medals for the Sabers with Rylee Dunkin earning gold in the 1500 and 3000 meter runs and placing 2nd in the long jump and 100. Cheyenne Bruns continued her impressive season with a 3rd in the open 400 and second in the 400 hurdles, and Ali Mockenhaupt won bronze in the discus.
