Bourne Town Administrator Anthony E. Schiavi has a little more than a month left before his resignation takes effect, but some members of the Bourne Board of Selectmen as well as the public are not ready to let him go.
Members of the board of selectmen declined to vote Tuesday, July 20, on whether or not to accept Mr. Schiaviâs letter of resignation. Instead, members decided to hold off on voting their acceptance in the hope that the town administrator will change his mind.
Chairman Peter J. Meier noted that people he has spoken with around town âhold you in very high regard.â Mr. Meier added that he believes Mr. Schiavi is leaving the office, and there is more work to be done in Bourne that would benefit from his experience and knowledge.
