Did was a fight until the final day. is that because there is denial at the state level in north dakota that there is a safety risk here? is it just pure fiscal conservatism that people don t want to spend money on anything. is there hope the federal goost or the in government or the industry might somehow step up and take care of it? what is driving them? i would say all of the above. we are ready to collect money from diesel tax on the railroads. we are going to collect between $5 million and $6 million in the next two years. only $600,000 of that will be used for rail safety in our state. in fact we had $3 million in the budget to help first responders. instead of using this railroad tax, what the republicans and majority did bass take money already in a fund for the fire tighters, took it away from the local fire departments to use for rail safety training. the other issues are always, ....
