They re working through weekend and could have a deal by early next week. are you confident that the senate can hammer out an agreement house democrats can get behind? i m confident that we are going to get to a place where we ll have both a bipartisan infrastructure agreement that makes necessary investments in terms of fixing or bridges, roads, mass transit system and perhaps invest in housing and other forms of infrastructure like broadband access for people in inner city america and rural america. but at the same time, we are also going to have to work the law broader reconciliation package that addresses some of the other needs of the american people such as investing in the caring economy, home care, child care, long-term care, health care, as well as doing infrastructure investments in a sustainable, resilient, and green fashion. ....

Ventilation may not have been at the top of this list aside from the pandemic. but what are the big issues that schools need in terms of fixing? you know, i visited schools that were so old that the windows were painted shut. i saw schools with poor air flow. i saw schools where closets were being used as work spaces. you know, we re retro fitting a bit too much and putting students in schools that are very old. if we want to prepare our students for the workforce of tomorrow, we need labs where students can learn hands on, state-of-the-art facilities where they can get the highest levels of learning to be successful in life. unfortunately in my visits i visited 16 states over the last three months, i saw schools that were topnotch and brand-new, and then i saw schools that i wouldn t want to send my own children in. so we have to do better and we have to make sure we look at infrastructure as equity also for our students. secretary, good to see you. obviously this is close to yo ....

Is a national emergency and i m not doubting that for a moment in sydney, then it is a national responsibility, the sydneysiders are locked into sydney. we need a ring of steel around sydney so that this virus is not spreading into other parts of our nation. let s focus on fixing what is going on in sydney, let s focus on not spreading what is going on in sydney across the rest of our country. we will finish up with the whole country in lockdown if we don t do this properly. our correspondent phil mercer has more from sydney. what we ve seen since the pandemic began in many ways is australia like a distressed submarine, those compartments of a submarine being closed off like states and territories around australia. western australia has put up a hard order with covid affected regions. the state of queensland is doing the same as well. what we are hearing from dan andrews, the victoria state premier, is wanting more of those restrictions around the greater sydney region to keep the peop ....

At the very top of the game. why aren t those interventions, in your view, useful? cos it seems to me, if you believe in symbolism, as you do with taking the knee, the greatest symbol of all is to see black athletes at the top of the game and in managerial positions, too. absolutely. but i do not think it should be falsely done. i think it s something that should be happening naturally. when you do it that way, stephen, in my opinion, you re putting a plaster on a sore instead of fixing whatever is causing the sore. i want to see people coming through the entire system so that no one can say, oh, he is there because of the rooney rule, as they have in nfl, or, he s there because of the quota system. that doesn t help anyone. that just causes friction. as makhaya ntini said, he was never invited to a senior meeting in that team because all the white cricketers figure he s sorry he s only there because they put him there, not because he ....
