A CHARITY fixture to remember Dunfermline man Calum Reid will kick-off next week.

It was another mixed bag for West Fife's East of Scotland League teams.

FIFE COUNCIL have pledged they will continue to look at ways of resolving the plight of a homeless West Fife football club. Members of the South West Fife area committee were given an update on Rosyth FC who were made homeless almost three years ago after agreeing to terminate their lease at Recreation Park. That came after the council accepted an offer to sell the land to allow for the development of a Lidl supermarket in 2016. As part of the deal, developer Mactaggart and Mickel was to provide the club with facilities – including a grass pitch – at the Fleet Grounds.

COUNCILLORS have agreed unanimously to support Rosyth FC in their pitch battle to get the sporting facilities they were promised. Three years after leaving Recreation Park to make way for a Lidl supermarket, the club are still homeless as the new ground that was part of the deal between Fife Council and the developer has not been delivered. MEMBERS of the Rosyth community and beyond have raised nearly £1,000 to create a permanent memorial to the late Jon Harrison. Jon, who was 63, died on January 25 after losing his battle with COVID-19 and tributes have continued to pour in in his memory.
