Leigh Pateman was charged and remanded into custody after emergency services responded to a call about a property fire on Firbeck Avenue in Skegness at 10.29pm on Thursday, April 22. A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital with severe burns and remains in a critical condition, police said. Pateman, of Firbeck Avenue, is due to appear for a hearing at Lincoln Magistrates Court on Monday, April 26.

Daniel Fleming was born in the fishing town of Arbroath in Scotland and started playing the bagpipes at the age of 10, following in the footsteps of his musical dad and older brother, who play the drums and cornet respectively. His collection continued to grow over the years and Daniel achieved his Guinness World Record on October 24, 2013 with 105 bagpipes. Daniel’s record collection of 105 bagpipes has since grown to around 190.

Police warning to schools after two drug sweets incidents

Police have experienced two incidents involving young people concerning sweets which contain cannabis or spice. A Lincolnshire schoolboy was hospitalised and a man was arrested after two separate incidents involving young people and ‘drug sweets’ containing cannabis or spice. A Lincolnshire school pupil became ill after eating one of the ‘sweets’ on March 16. The boy believed they contained cannabis, but it was actually a synthetic cannabinoid, and he was placed on a drip to aid his recovery. This is understood to have happened in the Spalding area of the county, but as of yet no arrests have been made. In a separate second incident on March 21, a man in his 20s was arrested in Skegness on suspicion of possession with intent to supply after police retrieved packets of these ‘sweets’ from him. He was later released under investigation.
