Deschutes National Forest announced temporary closures as a result of the Cedar Creek Fire, currently burning approximately 25 miles west of La Pine. Monday, the Forest Service reported: Fire activity has increased with continued hot and dry conditions and most of the Cedar Creek Fire growth is now north of Waldo Lake, which had been a natural barrier to prevent the fire from moving east.
