করোনার প্রাদুর্ভাব চলতে থাকায় মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা যে এ বছর হচ্ছে না, গত সোমবার, ৭ জুন সেই সিদ্ধান্ত ঘোষণার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেছিলেন, পড়ুয়াদের মূল্যায়ন কী ভাবে হবে, তা জানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে সাত দিনের মধ্যে। সেই অনুযায়ী আজ, সোমবার মূল্যায়নের পদ্ধতি ঘোষণা করার সম্ভাবনা প্রবল। শিক্ষা শিবির সূত্রের খবর, উচ্চ মাধ্যমিকের ফলের ক্ষেত্রে মাধ্যমিকের নম্বরও বিবেচ্য হবে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে। এবং মাধ্যমিকের ক্ষেত্রে নবম শ্রেণির বার্ষিক পরীক্ষার ফলাফলের সঙ্গে পড়ুয়ার দশম শ্রেণির অন্তর্বর্তী মূল্যায়নে পাওয়া নম্বরকে নিয়ে চূড়ান্ত ফল তৈরির কথা ভাবা হয়েছে।
উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক নিয়ে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষা সংসদ স্কুলশিক্ষা দফতরে যে-প্রস্তাব জমা দিয়েছে, শিক্ষা সূত্রের খবর, তাতে পড়ুয়ার মাধ্যমিকে পাওয়া নম্বরকে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া প্রয়োজন বলে জানানো হয়েছে। সে-ক্ষেত্রে পড়ুয়ার দ্বাদশ শ্রেণির ল্যাবরেটরি-ভিত্তিক বিষয়ে ৩০ নম্বরের প্র‌্যাক্টিক্যাল এবং ‘নন-ল্যাব’ বিষয়গুলির ২০ নম্বরের প্রজেক্টের নম্বরের সঙ্গে মাধ্যমিকে পাওয়া নম্বরকে গুরুত্ব দিয়ে চূড়ান্ত মূল্যায়ন করা হতে পারে।
মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ মাধ্যমিকের পরীক্ষা হওয়া বা না-হওয়া এবং পরীক্ষা না-হলে মূল্যায়ন কী ভাবে হবে, সেই বিষয়ে মতামত দেওয়ার জন্য যে-বিশেষজ্ঞ কমিটি গড়া হয়েছিল, মাধ্যমিকের পড়ুয়াদের মূল্যায়নের ক্ষেত্রে নবম শ্রেণির ফলাফলকে গুরুত্ব দেওয়ার প্রস্তাব দিয়েছিল তারা। কিন্তু পরবর্তী কালের আলোচনায় উঠে আসে, নবম শ্রেণির বার্ষিক পরীক্ষা মোটেই মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার সমতুল নয়। মাধ্যমিকের জন্য ছাত্রছাত্রীরা নিবিড় প্রস্তুতি চালায়। এখন মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা হয় শুধু দশম শ্রেণির পাঠ্যক্রমের ভিত্তিতে। আবার দশমের ১০ নম্বরের অন্তর্বর্তী মূল্যায়নে দেখা যায়, প্রায় সব ছাত্রছাত্রীই বেশ ভাল নম্বর পাচ্ছে। সে-ক্ষেত্রে শুধু এই নম্বরকে গুরুত্ব দিলেও ছাত্রছাত্রীদের মেধার প্রতি সুবিচার করা হবে না। সেই জন্য মধ্যশিক্ষা পর্ষদের কাছ থেকে বিকাশ ভবনে যে-প্রস্তাব গিয়েছে, তাতে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের মেধা এবং প্রাপ্ত নম্বরের মধ্যে সামঞ্জস্য বজায় রাখতে নবম শ্রেণির বার্ষিক পরীক্ষায় প্রাপ্ত নম্বরকে কিছুটা গুরুত্ব দিয়ে তার সঙ্গে অভ্যন্তরীণ মূল্যায়নের নম্বর নিয়ে বিশেষ ফর্মুলায় মার্কশিট তৈরি কথা জানানো হয়েছে বলেই খবর।
