New Delhi/IBNS: The Central Bureau of India (CBI) Wednesday is conducting searches at the offices of Oxfam India after registering a case against the NGO and its office-bearers for allegedly violating the provisions of India's foreign funding rules, reports said.
CBI launched an investigation against Oxfam India and its workers for allegedly contravening Indian foreign funding guidelines. The investigation follows a complaint from the Indian Home Ministry, which claimed that Oxfam India had received approximately INR 1.5 crore directly into its Foreign Contribution Utilisation account, rather than its designated bank account, between 2013 and 2016. Oxfam India has denied any wrongdoing and has filed a plea with the Delhi High Court against the decision not to renew its FCRA registration, which was declined in December 2021., Economy News, Times Now
