The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) has received $850,000 from the first round of funding from the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) to work on five local projects. SILVER CITY – Campfire and smoking restrictions are now in place on the Gila National Forest in order to protect public health and reduce preventable human-caused fires. The Dillon Ranger District is accepting comments on a proposal to construct more trails at Frisco Nordic Center. The new trails are part of a second phase of winter and summer trail expansion on U.S. Forest Service land at the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area.
