EDWARDSVILLE “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” returns to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Saturday with a new look.
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at SIUE is hosting the ninth annual event for girls in grades 5-8. For the first time it will be in a free, virtual format.
“I didn’t know about the Society of Women Engineers, but I heard about ‘Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day’ when I visited SIUE my senior year in high school (at Brussels) and that’s what drew me to the organization,” SWE President Emma Schleeper said. “I have some younger sisters in fourth and fifth grade now and that’s what drew me to being part of the event. ....
