Shannon Howard James Pitts of Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, on a field trip at Forsyth Technical Community College, shot himself in the hand, leading to a lockdown of the school and a massive police response, Winston-Salem police said.
Students received a text alert about 10:15 a.m., saying there was a report of shots being fired.
The drag queen, identified as Erica Chanel, was seen dancing on top of the student at Forsyth Technical Community College, which is a public school located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
