Forth Ports is keen for ports on both sides of the Forth to be included in plans for a green port A STRING of key sea ports, an industrial hub and Scotland’s busiest airport could be clustered together in plans being drawn up to become a post-Brexit green port. Scotland’s largest ports operator, Forth Ports, has told the Scottish Government it will submit plans to set up a green port at the Firth of Forth. Forth Ports has announced it is keen to bring forward proposals for the SNP adaptation of UK Government plans to give tax breaks to strategic ports.

THE Iron Lady barge had a tight fit under the Forth bridges yesterday (Thursday) morning. A REMARKABLE marine operation has taken place off the coast of East Lothian. The largest construction vessel in the world – Allseas’ Pioneering Spirit – could be seen off the county’s coast for much of the weekend. The 382 metres long and 124 metres wide vessel transferred its huge cargo of a topside drilling platform onto the 200-metre-long barge the Iron Lady on Saturday.
