Buried treasure, magic doors and a pair of excitable beagles
It's a measure of how popular the Forth Mountain trails are that within minutes of my arrival I see, in no particular order: families out for a stroll, stern-faced power walkers, fully kitted-out runners, youngsters on BMXs, and two riders on horseback.
