Opposition parties in India are gathering for a two-day Unity Meeting to discuss strategies ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with Congress party rallying support from over two dozen parties. The meeting is expected to decide on a name for the alliance and figure out a common minimum program, forming committees to hold discussions about possible problems within the alliance. The agenda also includes deciding on fielding a common opposition candidate on at least 80% of the Lok Sabha seats against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
