Westbrook Police honored three residents who aided in the apprehension of a man suspected of killing two parents in front of their kids last year.
The identities of the two victims are 37-year-old Brittney Cockrell of Westbrook and 41-year-old Michael Hayter, also of Westbrook.
Marcel Lagrange Jr., 24, of South Portland, apparently had no connection to the victims, identified as Brittney Cockrell, 37, and Michael Hayter, 41, both of Westbrook, Maine State Police said Tuesday.
A 24-year-old man from South Portland has been charged with murdering two people Monday night during a shooting in Westbrook.
Marcel Lagrange, 24, Jr. had prior convictions for charges of terrorizing, criminal threatening and assault.
