The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended a multiday search for a scuba diver who disappeared Thursday morning off Guam’s western coast.
Crews from the Coast Guard, Guam Police Department, the Navy and Guam Fire Department searched for a missing diver Thursday, and the search is planned to continue throughout the night.
A 35-year-old scuba diver went missing Thursday while apparently working off the west coast of Guam, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
Members of U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam and the U.S. Coast Guard 14th District conducted meetings and a tabletop exercise in Pohnpei the week of Dec. 12 around the use of the expanded bilateral agreement in support of maritime law enforcement operations recently signed between the Federated States of Micronesia and the United States in October, before successfully executing boardings under the agreement Dec. 17.
A Guam-based Coast Guard crew recently conducted community engagement in Pohnpei as part of Operation Rematau, according to a news release from the Coast Guard.
