    A civic group, Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria, said the National Emergency Management Agency still has a balance of $4,793,504 (N1.98 billion) from the money budgeted to evacuate Nigerian nationals from Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine war. Dr. Frederick Odorige, the group’s coordinator, disclosed this in a Wednesday press release made available to SaharaReporters. He insisted that the NEMA did not require any additional funding to evacuate Nigerians trapped in warring Sudan.

The coordinator of the Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria (GCSDN), Frederick Odorige has threatened to sue the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, over alleged defamation   Odorige had a few months ago questioned the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire and Dabiri-Erewa, asking them to account for funds budgeted in 2020 to attract Nigerian medical professionals in the diaspora.    He added that another N24 million was proposed to be spent on training and conferences.   

Odorige accused Dabiri-Erewa of misappropriating funds meant to be used to bring medical experts back to Nigeria.

Dabiri-Erewa had conceptualised the framework for the Ministry of Health, to engage Nigerian health professionals resident abroad.

Namadi, who is the son of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, was hoping to become the 2023 (PDP) flag bearer to represent Kaduna North Federal constituency at the House of Representatives but scored only two votes at the primary election, putting him at 12 votes behind the runner up.
