Next of all, old friend Charles Bowen not only suggested I write one of my history features on the Augusta woman who became Miss Georgia in 1964, he included several copies of articles this newspaper did on the crowning of the late Vivian Elizabeth Davis. It's a great idea. Barbara Holz, of Martinez, sent a warm and delightful note, and like her, I am glad it is baseball season again. It's also bug season and an anonymous, but clever letter writer, suggests we can get rid of those pesky yard ants and not poison our yard dogs by feeding them grits...
