The shenanigans that have taken place in his hearing room in the past? you would hope, but in fairness, some of the shenanigans have been on our side. i don t think the bucket of chicken was appropriate for our party. i don t think that s how you handle a judiciary committee hearing. what the democrats have their side are facts. what the republicans have on their side is disinformation and somehow the president is being railroaded. so their presentations are going to mirror that. i assume that the democratic members are going to continue to put the facts to these witnesses. if you look at this like a trial, this is really the instructions to the jury. what a trial is, it s fact witnesses taking the stand and then before the jury gets the case, the judge instructs them on the law. this is in fact the judge instructing the members of this committee on the law, and hopefully the members will in fact apply the facts to that law in their questioning. ....

Unlikely that i would be taking calls from random people. ari melber, any problem with those answers? how about with sean hannity s stumbled pronunciation of les parnas or whatever his name is? i think the biggest problem is that this is not a random call and everyone knows that. there is what s called circumstantial evidence and then there s direct evidence. both put mr. nunes in a role as a potential collaborator, cooperator, ally in this effort. i wouldn t go as far as mr. weissmann because i don t think the public facts suggest that the contacts he was having and meetings alone create political exposure for a member of congress, but he may know things i don t. that s always been the case when i ve reported on what he s working on. and i do think it looks terrible and is obviously a question for the house ethics office, when you go to the governing of the committee. i think congressman swalwell put his finger on the fact that this person has no power. ....

Democratic member of congress from california, eric swalwell, who just happens to be among the lucky few with an appointment to both the intel and judiciary committee, meaning he will be part of the democratic panel presiding over today. so, congressman, let s talk about this moment. now that the report is out, tell us what the american people need to know about your fellow member of congress, devin nunes. he s not an investigator. it looks like he was in on it. expand on that. what do you mean he was in on it? well, he had an opportunity for a couple weeks before the american people, as we examine the evidence, to be serious, and you know, really drive to the heart of this case. and instead, he spent most of his time going after chairman schiff and making false accusations against chairman schiff. and now it looks like he was the fact witness. he was asking chairman schiff, you know, to recuse himself, when all along, he had phone calls with an indicted ukr ....

Because the republicans want to frame this as a perversion of the democratic process. and in fact, the constitution installs impeachment as a vindication of democracy to remove a president who has exercised his powers for his own purposes and not for the benefit of the american people or this country. brian, i ve got to say, he mentions the goldendoodle, to paraphrase a different saying, that dog won t hunt. mr. turley supported the impeachment of president clinton. but more importantly it s not a legal argument. i think what is very important for the country today is to really listen closely to this very severe high-bar punishment of whether you try to impeach, convict and remove a sitting president and what are the reasons to do that or not. extra legal kind of discussion of whether or not it may or may not invite future problems isn t really a constitutional case. let me ask you this, as people watch they are used to some of our veteran viewers ....

Begin with our counsel ari melber at the far end and perhaps come this way. ari, for folks who have been busy living their lives in the past 24 hours, talk about the impact of this document that was released yesterday. and let me make it a bit tougher. why do we assume that even one more american is going to read this as opposed to the mueller report? all great questions. you re talking about, if anyone s been busy, what came out you make my case for me. it is a long one. i ve now read it twice in the main section, at least. and what this document does is take all those hearings and other new evidence, some of which was just revealed last night, and make the case that the evidence the democrats say supports not just an abuse of a single phone call or tough talk or a mistake, but a coordinated effort, what in the law would often be called a conspiracy, to abuse the powers of the white house to get help with the re-election campaign, to extort ....
