NARRAGANSETT “Underwhelming” was the word chosen by the Town Council president and a council member who is on the Galilee Advisory Committee to describe a plan for bringing back to usefulness the Lighthouse Inn in the fishing village of Galilee.  
The Lighthouse had once been the Dutch Inn, which had a kitschy fake windmill that welcomed visitors to the village of seafood restaurants, shops, kiddie beach, working waterfront and the Block Island ferry landing.
It also beckoned inside, to the motel and conference rooms, the swimming pool and spa with parrots living in the trees, to the dining room/banquet hall where civic clubs met and the New England Regional Fishery Management Council discussed limits, where anglers swapped fish stories and the Tuna Tournament took over once a year. ....
