Police in Hopkinton are turning to the public for help in tracking down a missing 84-year-old man who vanished from an assisted living facility late Sunday night.
The grant money will allow Ashland, Hopkinton and Southborough to purchase up to 104 self-contained breathing apparatuses.

Public safety officials searched for the missing swimmer until midnight, although they were interrupted several times due to severe thunderstorms.
Wilinson J. Orbequito went for the swim with a friend at the town’s Sandy Beach and when the friend returned to shore around 8 p.m., as storms were sweeping through the area, he saw that the victim had not come back onto the beach, according to a fire department spokesman.
