Total and Simply Blue Energy have unveiled plans for the 300MW Valorous floating wind project in the Celtic Sea. The Blue Gem Wind joint venture has filed an environmental scoping report for the scheme, its second floater in the area following from the proposed 96MW Erebus. Blue Gem Wind has received planning consent to install a met mast on the Angle Peninsula in Wales to gather wind resource data for floating wind projects in the Celtic Sea. The met mast, due to be deployed in early March, will be sited on the old airfield, 0.5 km inland of East Pickard Bay, in Pembrokeshire, for a duration of 15 months.
