Western Command GOC-in-C Lt Gen R P Singh on Saturday asked passing out gentlemen cadets at the IMA to keep evolving constantly to handle the challenges of modern warfare. JAMMU: Western Command Army commander Lt Gen R P Singh on Saturday visited Yol garrison and reviewed operational readiness of Rising Star Corps in its area of responsibility, besides measures taken by the Corps to control the spread of Covid-19 within the military station.
Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Lt Gen P N Ananthanarayanan, SM, GOC, Rising Star Corps, received the Army commander on his arrival at Yol Cantt and updated him about the operational readiness of the Corps. The Army commander was also updated on the state of Covid-19 infections in the area and measures taken by the Rising Star Corps to control the infections within the military station. The officer was also briefed about assistance being provided to ex-servicemen and aid to civil administration."

Chandigarh, May 10 : As part of the continued fight against the spike in Covid-19 cases, the Western Command on Monday dedicated three Covid hospitals to the nation under the Indian Army initiative 'Operation Namaste'.
Lt Gen R.P. Singh, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Command, announced the operationalisation of first Western Command 100-bed hospital in coordination with the Chandigarh administration at International Students Hostel of Panjab University in Sector 25 here in presence of UT Administrator V.P. Singh Bandore.

Chandigarh, April 26 : Responding to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's plea for help in the war-like Covid situation, the Western Command of the Indian Army on Monday extended all possible help, including medical staff and medically trained combatants, to Punjab to meet the exigent shortage in hospital, along with support in reviving the state's old oxygen plants that are currently lying defunct.
Lt Gen R.P. Singh, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Western Command, at a virtual meeting of the Chief Minister with senior command officials, also offered to provide staff to run the 100-bed Covid facility proposed to be set up in the building loaned to the state government by the CSIR for the purpose.
