Dubai inmates learn basics of volunteer work

Through programme, the police seek to give inmates a chance to start afresh and channel their energy into productivity.
Twenty-seven inmates in Dubai have learnt the basics of volunteer work and community service in two virtual workshops recently organised by the emirate’s General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions.
The programme was part of the Dubai Police’s Fina Khaer (The Goodness Within) initiatives, and the force’s goal of encouraging more inmates to serve the community as volunteers. Various activities and sessions were lined up for the group as part of the educational programme. ....
