CEBU CITY The police here have appealed to barangay officials to cooperate in the campaign against the rampant illegal Small Town Lottery (STL) operations.
The role of barangay officials in eradicating illegal STL operations are crucial since they have the information about the illegal numbers game happening in their areas, said Police Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of CCPO, in Cebuano.
“With the barangays’ help, our police and PROBE (Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, and Enhancement) team would be able to respond to areas where illegal STLs are rampant,” Parilla told reporters Wednesday.
Police were recently told to intensify the campaign against STL operations that have become rampant in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue.
