She was born in Cohoes, Albany County, N.Y., on March 6, 1953, a daughter of the late Alton and Elizabeth Wright. She married Edward Joseph Zetts on June 9, 1973; they shared 41 years of marriage before Edward passed away on March 28, 2017. She had been a loan officer during her career with Beneficial Finance.
