On Monday’s Backchat we're talking about climate change, with the introduction of a new “extremely hot weather” warning and a prediction that this year could be among the hottest recorded.

The Hong Kong Observatory said in a news briefing that we can expect high temperatures and other extreme weather events to increase in the coming years. It came after the release of a United Nations report that warned of climate change affecting the world faster than expected.

So what should we as residents do to protect ourselves from the effects of increasingly hot weather?  And with Hong Kong committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, how can we best do our part?

We will also look at Earth Hour, organised by WWF, taking place over the weekend.

After 9:45, we'll focus on the the return of international golf to Hong Kong, and a landmark victory for Taichi Kho, who’s become the first Hong Kong player to win an Asian Tour event-the inaugural World City Championship at Fanling.
