TenneT Chooses ZTT for Two German Offshore Wind Connections

December 15, 2020, by Adrijana Buljan TenneT has commissioned subsea cable manufacturer Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable (ZTT) for two offshore wind connections in Germany. ZTT will deliver cable systems to link offshore wind farms to HelWin beta and DolWin kappa converter platforms in the North Sea, with the cable routes being five and 16 kilometre respectively. Chinese cable crew to link German offshore duo

The connections will be for five and 16 kilometres, respectively, TenneT said. The cable systems will be produced at one of Zhongtian's manufacturing facilities in Nantong, China, and then transported to Europe. Installation will be carried out by Greek subcontractor Asso Subsea. The first cable laying is planned for summer 2022 to connect Kaskasi 2 offshore wind farm.
